Surplus Fruit or Vegetables?
The Farm-to-Pantry volunteer-based organization gleans or harvests surplus produce as a way to provide fresh food to the needy families in the community.
Too much fruit ends up wasted — falling to the ground, rolling in the street or rotting on the vine. If you have extra fruit or vegetables, they will schedule a convenient time for volunteers to come to you, pick the surplus produce and deliver it to a local food pantry for distribution to families in need. They will provide ladders, boxes and pickers.
If you are interested in donating your surplus produce for gleaning contact Farm to Pantry. Send an email to: gleaning@farmtopantry.org. Visit their website for more information: http://www.farmtopantry.org/how-to-help.html
