What Goes Where?

With regards to waste, attached are 3 Recology Sonoma Marin downloadable guides to assist in determining what goes in the trash can (landfill), recycle can, and compost can.
Note: Plastic bags of any kind DO NOT go in the recycle can. Recology has indicated that plastic bags in the recycle can full of recyclables typically end up in the landfill. Place recyclable items in the recycle can in their raw form or in a paper bag.
Note: Recology prefers that shredded paper be bagged in a paper bag (not plastic) then placed in the compost can. A small piece of tape or staple at the top of the bag keeps it shut and doesn’t fly around the streets.
